Questions to ask before you hire a mold crew

A clear scope beats a low verbal number. Ask how they measure moisture, how they contain dust and who repairs the source of the water.

  1. 1How will you measure moisture?
  2. 2How is the dust contained?
  3. 3Who fixes the leak?

How will you measure moisture?

Ask whether they bring a meter and whether you will see the readings. Guesswork leads to walls opened in the wrong place.

How is the dust contained?

Plastic, zip walls and filtered air move dust the right direction. If the answer is vague, keep asking.

Who fixes the leak?

Mold work does not replace a roofer or a plumber. A good crew will say where the water came from and leave that repair to the right trade.
